I remember in junior high when they would call out over the loud speaker a ” hallway sweep ” where if you were caught outside of the classroom in the hallway without any kind of hall pass you got detention, so i would be in the bathroom and hear the principle on the loudspeaker declare the hallway sweep followed by the literal stampede of kids trying to book it the hell back to class.
Oh and what was even better is when the announcement comes on the teachers would go to their doors and lock them so only kids with passes could get back in. So you would be in class hearing a stampede of feet and kids struggling to open locked doors
